Story

TEN EVENTS CHALLENGE FINISHING WITH A FULL IRON MAN

Most of you know me as a runner which I have been doing now
for 6 years. Well I have decided to embark on a new journey, one I did try to
start 2 years ago but had to stop due to a nasty accident... but I am back for
more punishment and this time I will certainly be more careful.

My crazy challenge is to complete an Iron Man which will be interesting as I am not a good swimmer or any good on a bike but that just adds
to the challenge right ?? !!! I am dedicating at least 1 year of my life to
training my butt off, learning to swim properly and believe it or not "breathing", riding my bike without falling off (and avoiding on-coming cars) and understanding what the hell do you do when riding a bike wearing funny shoes !!!

Throughout this training I will complete at Least 10 major events (this will ensure I don’t slack off and keeps me focused)  some of which will be;

Swimathon 2.5km swim April 2018 Confirmed (can't believe i'm doing this), Ride London 100 miles bike event (confirmed July 2018) / timed ½ marathons at pace/  "Half Iron Man" / multiple Triathlons / Full Road Marathon to name but a few. Each event will be a big challenge that will require hard training and aim to bring me on towards my goal culminating in the main event of an Iron Man late Summer 2019.

2018 - Main target to complete is a Half Iron Man by end of
Sept. This in itself will be a challenge as currently I cannot run due to some ankle issues but this will be resolved with remedial works or surgery ( Dont worry I am under the care of specialists and will be done with utmost care). But this is not stopping me as whilst I can’t run I can swim or Bike so it’s all good !

This year I have been taking swimming and bike handling
lessons for the past few months to put me in a better position, joined a
Triathlon club and even signed up with a Triathlon coach to help guide me through how I should train as I haven't got a clue when it comes to swim and bike training !!!!

Now I need your help and your cash. Especially for those hard times, you know when your knackered after a full day’s work, when your mentally and physically exhausted and all you want to do is collapse on the sofa munching down on fatty and bad for you foods that taste amazing, but you have to go out in wind, rain, or snow and train your butt off ….. Yes that’s the moment I need your help !!!

I have decided to continue my support to an amazing Charity,Saint Francis Hospice which provides amazing care for life limiting illnesses and support for their families COMPLETELY FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!       I have been touched by the work they do and will be putting myself through hell to raise money on their behalf.

So, you know what to do, even if it’s a few pounds, euros,
dollars or £100’s or even £1000's every little helps, please give what you can. I cannot tell you how much it helps knowing I have your support,

Join me and let’s do this together !!!! I will be adding reports on where I am with my journey here and on Facebook !
