Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.

Story

In April 2009 my nephew, and godson, Kristian Thomas was diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome. This is a rare, and potentially devasting kidney disease, which can cause kidney failure.  There is no cure at the moment.

Luckily Kristian is in remission at the moment, but needs daily medication to help keep his kidneys working.

I am running the Virgin London Marathon in April 2011 to raise funds for NeST, the Nephrotic syndrome trust.

NeST funds vital research in the UK to help find a cure for this disease. It is linked to the American Nephcure Foundation.
