I am going to be jumping out of a plane for charity! I told you I would do it one day! :)

I am doing one tandem jump, from 12 000 ft!!

CHARITY:
So I'm sure you're wondering who I am raising money for. Here's my long story (if you don't want to read it all skip to the bottom just to see the name of the charity):

As you may know, I went travelling the summer just gone and one of the places I visited was Cambodia, an extemely poor country compared to it's neighbours. We happened to stumble upon (no exaggeration here) an orphanage which was severely lacking in resources, food, accomodation, teachers etc. Although we did not stay a very long time, these kids really did touch my heart. Their enthusiasm for life and their energy, despite their situation, was truely inspiring.

I have tried to get in contact with this orphanage several times with no response. This is understandable, considering their lack of facilities. I am also somehwhat worried that the money I send over there will not be used to improve the orphanage itself but get lost somewhere in the corruption.

So instead, I have decided to donate whatever I raise to a chairty called CONCERN. I have done some research and contacted at the charity and, to my knowledge, they work extensively in Cambodia on several projects including:
* Improving income
* Sustainable forestly practices
* Improving access to food
* Reducing food shortages.
On a larger scale, they work in 28 countries around the world focusing on EDUCATION, EMERGENCIES, HEALTH, HIV & AIDS and LIVELIHOODS!

Also, do not despair. The Cambodian orphanage will not be ignored! I am planning to pursue them until I do get a response and hopefully, will be holding a fundraiser for them in the near future. I plan to visit them again after this so that I know the money is spent well!
