Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

After our Rector, who is also our Group's very own Chaplain, allowed us to use his garden for a trial run we have decided to make the BIG SeepOut in the grounds of Chichester Cathedral an annual event in our Troop Calendar. It is organised by Chichester Christian Care Association "Stonepillow" in order to raise fundsand awareness for the homeless in our area.

In 2008 we braved gale force winds and temperatures just above zero in our cardboard cathedral built in the cloisters and gained some insight into life without the basic amenities we take for granted.

Last year sadly the event was cancelled due to building works in the cloisters, but it will take place once again at the end of October this year.

Fr. Timothy has been seen to note the date in his diary as "sleeping rough", but rumour has it that he is hoping to buy his way out of a night in a cardboard box. Please don't let him get away that easily!

Special thanks must go to my other half who not only allows, but encourages me to sleep rough by his sponsorship on this our 12th wedding anniversary!
