Relay Channel Swim · 12 July 2007

O2e encourages and supports ordinary people to achieve extraordinary sporting and physical challenges. In so doing O2e aims to raise substantial sums of money to support terminally ill and disabled children and their families.

Story

This year I have teamed up with 5 people to attempt a relay crossing of the English Channel.  The crossing is about 22 miles, cold (17 deg) and extremely tidal, with many attempts failing within a mile of France due to the strong tide.  CSA rules insist on speedo, goggles, swimcap and nothing else (except lashings of goosefat for those inclined). Other obstacles include sea-sickness, jelly fish and the 500 or so ships which pass through the channel daily.

We plan to make it in 15 hours or less and are training regularly between the piers in Brighton to acclimatise.  Our slot is booked between 4/10 Sep, weather permitting.

Please sponsor me. O2e (www.o2e.org) are ordinary people trying to achieve extraordinary things to raise money for disabled and terminally ill children.  Thank you for your support.
