Story
Hi,
So if you've seen the facebook page or read the email you'll know what this is about. 8 of us are entering the Tough Guy race 2008 - apparently the world's hardest assault course assault course, which will be made all the more tougher by the fact most of us are unfit. At best. All we're asking is a small donation (or massive for any you big-timers out there) to the 'Kids Action' charity - we have chosen this as it's small and well run and hopefully the money we raise will make a tangible difference rather than get hoovered up by admin fees. The testimony below is from a guy called Alan Millar (A previous fundraiser for this charity I would say it's a good friend and it's absolutely watertight, but that would be a lie) who worked out in Sierra Leone...
'During my trip to Sierra Leone in February 2007 I was amazed by the work done at the Orphanage supported by Kid's Action in Freetown. Compared to what we take for granted in the UK these kids make do with the bare esentials - and rarely with a complaint. Having seen first-hand the work that the money raised from events like this can achieve I guarantee that £5 over there achieves infinitely more than £5 will ever achieve here in the UK. Please give generously (and if you're a taxpayer click the Git Aid box - it costs you nothing and generates another 28p in the £ for Kids Action'
We know it's short notice but any donations will be much appreciated and you can take comfort in the knowledge we're not going to be enjoying this. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Kids Action will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thanks for your support, hopefully see you post-hypothermia
Ben, Mike, Matt, Tom H, Joe, Tom B, Greg E and Tom R.
