London Bikeathon 2013 · 15 September 2013 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Old Farts JustGiving page.

We are a bunch of guys of advancing years and limited cycling experience, looking to give ourselves a challenge. Our good friend Karen Taylor-Lucas explains why;

"As many of you already know, I was diagnosed with Lymphoma earlier this year. I have just finished a course of chemotherapy and am now as bald as a coot!!! Next step is radiotherapy.
My husband, Mark and a group of friends (Fulbourn Old Farts) are doing a fundraiser for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. They usually all play football together, but have decided to branch-out with their 'athletic' bodies! On 15 September they will be cycling 52 miles around London, hopefully taking in a few of the scenes, but most probably with heads down and digging their heels into those pedals! I know many of you already give to charities, but if you fancy giving to another that is close to my heart then that would be great! I think it would give the 'boys' real encouragement to see their target go through the roof “
