Everest Base Camp Trek · 25 March 2011
Thanks for your support! On 25th March we will climb for 12 days to base camp Mount Everest, the world tallest mountain and 1 week later on 17th April I will run the Vienna marathon. We're putting ourselves through the pain to help raise money for an important project at Kibongoto Hospital; a Tuberculosis, Aids and HIV hospital in Tanzania.
As well as treating around 900 adults and children annually, who are affected by these terrible diseases, they are aiming to run an "Expert Patient Programme" for a second year. Last year our Kilimanjaro trek group of 25 raised enough money after our climb to get this project started for one year. It was a great success and they hope, with our help to run this project for a second year. Through this, they will train HIV/AIDS patients in both drug treatment and prevention to ease the workload of medical staff, increase the capacity for treatment and provide a source of income for patients who also go out and educate local communities. Statistics show this is having a positive effect at hospitals across Africa.
One 2 One will run this project at the hospital with our help! Please support us in our madness!! Thanks so much!!!!
**NB All money will go straight to the charity - we are funding the trips ourselves.
