Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are the 4 Stooges. Joel Taggart (BBC Sport NI), Liam Beckett (Ex Coleraine and Crusaders footballer and former Cliftonville manager), Albert Kirk (UTV Shoot editor, part time magician and full time socialiser) and  John O’Neill (Former Northern Ireland international footballer). We all work in the local Northern Ireland sports media now in one way or another, have been friends for many years and enjoy our golf. We decided to take part in Macmillan's longest day golf challenge because we thought that between the 4 of us, we’re bound to have 1 good hole. But we do have some other reasons. Albert was diagnosed in March 2009 with colon cancer. He had an operation to remove the tumour in May 2009, chemotherapy up until Xmas 2009. Thankfully he didn’t lose his famous flowing blonde locks and believes his positive attitude helped to get him back to health and strength. A mutual friend has also just had surgery to remove a tumour from his throat. These 2 events have inspired us to raise awareness and money for Macmillan Cancer Support. If you would like to help please donate as much as you can to a very worthy cause. We are also looking for a caddy or 2 to come and keep us company on Friday June 21 at Galgorm Castle golf club, home to the NI Open Challenge later this year. If that’s something you’d like to do then contact Joel on Twitter @TaggartJoel or by email joeltaggart@me.com .

Lots of laughs guaranteed, so please dig deep and donate now.
