Update:
I did it! I ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2009 in 1:56:36 (1 hour, 56 minutes and thirty six seconds). I'm still not at my fundraising target so please consider giving a small donation to Right To Play if you find the following pictures and video at all interesting or amusing:

About Right to Play
Over 700 million children don’t know what it means to safely play. Right To Play is helping to change that in 23 countries all over the developing world. We are an athlete-driven international humanitarian organisation that uses sport and play programmes to enhance the lives of children affected by poverty, war and disease. We work closely with communities to set up sport and play programmes designed to teach crucial behaviours and skills such as leadership, teamwork, self-esteem, communication, respect and fair-play. These in turn help prevent the spread of deadly diseases such as HIV/AIDS and combat female exclusion, inadequate education and abuses of children’s rights. The networks and infrastructure we establish enables local communities to take ownership over the programmes, leaving a long lasting impact.
