Hi all, 

Some of you may have noticed a drastic change in my appearance over the last year. I have been on a drive to lose weight and get fitter!

As part of this, I have chosen to run in the Colchester Half Marathon in March 2019. I will be running for a charity called the Solar Sister, they provide clean, dependable solar electricity to women and girls in rural Africa. 

Solar Sister trains and supports women to deliver clean energy directly to off grid homes in rural African communities. They provide essential services and training that enable women entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses in their own communities. Since 2010 Solar Sister has helped over 1.4million across Africa with solar energy and clean cookstoves and has kickstarted over 3400 clean energy entrepreneurs.

I will be blogging about my training and this fantastic charity via my company's website if you want to keep up with my progress. Opulous Innovation will be one of my main sponsors for the event providing me with the race entry and all my running gear. 

To date, the furthest I have run is 10K so 22k is going to be somewhat of a challenge, especially as running isn't my favourite type of exercise. But with 150 days to go, I'm excited about the new challenge and raising money for a charity that I believe in.
