Story
Hi! My name is Nikki, I’m 22 years old and im hiking 100 miles throughout the month of October for my nanny.
Around two months ago, my nanny was diagnosed with cancer and she is currently going through chemotherapy. I wanted to do something positive to support her and help other people and families affected by cancer.
I love walking and hiking, so throughout October I’m challenging myself to complete 100 miles of mountain hikes to raise money for SWELL cancer support.
I’ve chosen to do this challenge throughout October as it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With my nanny currently going through cancer treatment, this makes October an especially meaningful month for me and my family.
I’ll be taking on mountains and challenging routes throughout Northern Ireland and further afield, finishing the challenge by climbing Carrauntoohil, the highest mountain in Ireland.
This challenge will push me physically and mentally, and I know it won’t always be easy, but I’m determined to give it my best and complete the 100 miles.
I’m hoping to raise £2,000 and every donation, no matter how big or small, will help me reach that goal.
I’m doing this for my nanny, but also for everyone else affected by cancer and the families supporting them.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
