Story
Hi, I’m Rob and alongside two close friends I’m taking on a challenge of running 1000km in 100 days to celebrate a huge milestone — 100 years of our family business, Head & Wheble Funeral Directors.
For a century, our business has been rooted in supporting families through some of the most difficult and emotional times in their lives. We are incredibly proud of the care, compassion and dignity we provide to our community, and reaching this centenary feels like the perfect moment to give something meaningful back.
That’s why we have chosen Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance as our charity of the year.
Every day, they provide a vital, life-saving service across our region, often reaching people in their most critical moments when time matters most. Their team delivers expert pre-hospital emergency care, bringing the hospital to the patient when it’s needed most. Like us, they are there for people at times of crisis — supporting individuals and families during life-changing events.
There is a natural connection between what we do and the work of the Air Ambulance. While our role is to care for families after a loss, their mission is to save lives and support people in those first crucial moments. Both services are built on compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the communities we serve.
We are especially proud to support their second helicopter appeal, helping to ensure they can continue and expand the incredible work they do across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, as well as the wider Dorset and Somerset areas.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and will make a real difference.
Thank you so much for your support — it truly means a lot to us and to the people whose lives may one day depend on this amazing service.
