CARTEN100 2024 · 11 May 2024 ·

We want to promote a shared conversation and response to Mental Health and Bullying in which everyone works together to create safe environments for young people. By creating a kinder, more accepting, and more inclusive community, fewer young people will experience mental health issues, become less isolated, be willing to speak out and ask for help. No one ever has to feel alone.

Story

In 2017, a foundation was established to honor the memory of Megan who tragically took her life after battling cyberbullying in silence. The foundation is dedicated to providing support to young individuals facing mental health challenges, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds in Pembrokeshire.

Mental health issues are prevalent in the area, and the foundation's mission is to support those silently suffering to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

Led by the very individuals they support, the foundation takes a innovative approach, amplifying the voices and perspectives of young people.

To further their impact, they have created a Community Coffee House that serves as the heart and soul of their efforts.

On the 11th of May Dan Allerton, Josh Ashton and Ryan Hipkin will be participating in the annual Cardiff to Tenby bike ride - CARTEN100 2024. None of them are by any means cyclists nor have done much training for the event but are determined to show what a positive attitude and hard work can achieve

Their goal is to raise £1,000 for Megan's Starr Foundation. The support will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people facing mental health challenges throughout Pembrokeshire
