Story
Hey all. I'm raising £100 for Sport in Mind, to help them support people through the power of sport, community and movement! The charity are Berkshire based, and provide safe spaces for people to do something fun, meet others and just genuinely feel better. I've said a million times that sport/being active and positive mental wellbeing go hand in hand for me personally. Whether taking part or volunteering - it brings out the best in people for a shared goal!
This walking challenge (31 July-4 Aug) is being coordinated with the University of Reading, where i've worked for 6 years. They are marking their centenary year - and I wanted to get Sport in Mind involved to help give it a boost! And from a selfish POV, have a good old stroll along the River Thames.
The best thing about the challenge is how inclusive it will be. The 5-day route from Woolwich, London to Reading is open to all to come and join in - for as long as you would like. The final mile will take place on Whiteknights Campus, UoR for staff to come and have a walk around the lake and then relax, chat to others and meet Sport in Mind staff.
