Challenge X: The Wave of Light

One Hundred Strong is raising money for Sands

An endurance event that includes an ocean, a sea, the tallest peaks in the UK, open hilly road to cycle on and a load of pain! · 10 October 2025

Sands is the charity speaking up about pregnancy and baby loss, saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families. Together, we are saving babies’ lives and improving maternity safety and bereavement care through research, training and campaigning.

Story

We are back! This time it’s personal as we look to complete our 10th major event and 12th overall event (including the Community Events). After raising over £35,000* for charities, causes and People-In-Need since 2019… we bring to you CHALLENGE X: THE WAVE OF LIGHT.

OUR CHARITY:

We, at 100 Strong Official, believe that nobody should ever have to suffer the loss of a baby or child, whether born or not. Miscarriages and loss of young life is unfathomable and an absolutely devastating life event that a lot of people never recover from. There are services available to support and research going into preventative research and solutions to these awful situations and our physical pain and suffering this year pales in absolute insignificance to the pain and anguish that is suffered every day across the UK for families.

We are supporting SANDS charity this year, a charity close to the heart of our team. So many need their services - check them out: https://www.sands.org.uk/

THE TEAM:

This year MATT ROBERTS welcomes LAITH HOFAYZ and JACK ROBERTS to the team as athletes and TOM SIMPSON on board as a trustee to the organisation. All of whom are taking part in the physical challenge.

RHIANNON BATER returns as support and photography alongside her partner Atilla. BUZZ MEDIA PRODUCTIONS will take care of videography.

THE CHALLENGE:

This year's actual physical challenge is from October 10th until October 15th.

We will start in the North Sea off the coast of Buckie, Scotland where we shall battle the rough October sea before hitting the shore and jumping onto bikes and cycling into the heart of the Cairngorm mountains. The team will then take on the 5x 4000ft peaks there in a marathon hike.

They will then cycle over to Fort William and complete the remaining 4x 4000ft peaks in Lochaber before cycling out to the Atlantic ocean where they will swim out to the finish line.

OTHER EVENTS:

Sunday 24th August: SUPER SEMINAR (£40 per head)

Sunday 14th September: MINT ROOMS FINE DINING EXPERIENCE (£50 per head)
