Story
Hi,
My name is Connor and alongside two of my friends (Ben and Harry) are going to attempt to play 101 holes at Willow Valley Golf Club where I work. This will entail walking over 40 miles as well as hitting more than 400 golf shots along the way.
I chose to raise money for Overgate Hospice because they are the charity that are looking after my dad who sadly at the start of the year was diagnosed with terminal thyroid cancer called ATC (Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer). This cancer is so aggressive that it has already spread to his lungs and heart. This type of cancer is one of the most aggressive types of thyroid cancer you can have, a cure for ATC has not yet been found and the treatment he is able to have can only make him more comfortable, and will not extend the time he has left. I would like to say thank you to the amazing people at Overgate Hospice who are providing many different types of support and helping my family through this extremely stressful time.
As well as the golf challenge, we are holding a charity evening at the golf club on the evening of the challenge where there will be plenty of amazing prizes to be won ranging from 4-ball vouchers from local clubs to signed memorabilia. All the proceeds from the day and evening event will go straight to Overgate hospice, so any support no matter how small is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
