Walking to Make a Difference - One Step at a Time
On Saturday 2nd May, a small but determined group of parents, teachers and friends of Cranbrook School will be taking on an extraordinary challenge: the 1066 Battle Ultra.
This is no gentle stroll - it’s a gruelling 40km or 60km cross-country route, starting at Norman’s Bay, passing through Battle, and finishing at Cranbrook School. With over 800 metres of elevation gain, it will push us physically and mentally every step of the way.
So why are we doing it? Because we believe passionately in supporting the children at Cranbrook, both in how they learn and how they feel.
Our aim is to raise over £30,000, to directly support two vital causes:
'Curiosity in Action': transforming existing classrooms/science labs into bright, modern and inspiring spaces where curiosity, creativity and focus can thrive.
Mental Health - The Sam West Foundation: a charity set up in memory of a former Cranbrook pupil, providing crucial mental health support and raising awareness for young people and their families.
Like many schools, Cranbrook has faced increasing costs and reduced budgets in recent years. Your support really does matter. Every donation, large or small, will help motivate us through the miles and, more importantly, make a lasting difference to the learning and wellbeing of our children.
We’d be incredibly grateful if you could support us on this journey and help us reach the finish line together.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity and encouragement - it truly means the world.
