Story
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my story…BIG challenge ahead :-) I am going to run the Manc 10k to raise some funds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital!
When our little Elias was born on 3rd July 2023 at 34 weeks, my worst nightmare happened: he was admitted to the NICU on the high dependency ward. My heart sank and I had never felt so helpless. All I wanted to do was hold, feed and cuddle my newborn baby boy.
Elias spent a total of 15 days in NICU where we experienced the waves of little steps forward and a million steps back. Elias was a fighter and every new phase he smashed! Undergoing surgery, his strength and bravery has given me a huge wake up call to just go out there and get sh*t done!! 💪🏼
Each member of staff on the NICU ward were amazing to us and supported us through the storm. We couldn’t have got through the long days and nights without their positive, honest and uplifting spirits. We will be forever grateful to the NICU ward angels and I want to raise some funds to support the unit and other babies and families who need it.
Elias is nearly 2 and I wanted to do something like this much sooner but to be honest, I have struggled to even talk for long let along write the above about our personal journey: but here I am, ready to roll! Always here as a listening ear for anyone going through it or having been through it :-)
🙏🏼

Il try really hard to make the finish line…
So please share some pennies to help save a little boy like mine 🫶🏼’’
