10th Annual Coastal walk - Stroke Association

Footprints For Others is raising money for Stroke Association

walking the coast from Northumberland into Scotland · 10 September 2025

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

The footprints for others team are at it again.

On the 10th September Derek and Ellie are walking miles and miles from their doorstep in Northumberland along the coast and all the way to the Forth Bridge in Scotland. This is the 10th year they have embarked on their coastal walk. Each year for a different charity and each year going further and further. Around 25 miles a day this year!

Ellie was only 8 years old when her and her dad started to do this challenge. They take great pleasure walking in each others company, knowing that with each step they are helping people along the way.
