Story
We’re walking 12 miles along the Water of Leith Walkway — from the countryside of Balerno all the way into the Shore at Leith — to raise money for a very special dog called Lady 🐾💛
I’ll be doing the walk alongside Carly, another rescue dog from Any Dog’il Do Rescue. Volunteering at ADDR me just how life-changing rescue can be — and how much dogs like Carly and Lady rely on it
Edit to add - Carly is now settling in her new foster home so Brock has been subbed in to do to the walk!
Lady was abandoned by her previous owner when her vet bills became too much to manage. She was left behind and in need of help — but thankfully, she was given a rescue space at Any Dog’ll Do.
When Lady arrived, it quickly became clear just how much she was struggling. After veterinary assessment, we were told she has double cruciate ligament damage in both of her back legs — a painful condition that makes walking difficult and will only worsen without surgery.
The cost of her operation alone is around £6,000.
Like many rescues, the charity is also supporting other dogs with medical needs, alongside ongoing kennel and care costs.
That’s why we’re taking on this walk — from quiet countryside paths into the heart of the city — every step to help give Lady the chance to walk comfortably, run freely, and live the life she deserves.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it will go towards Lady’s surgery and the care of other dogs like her.
If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for supporting Lady — and dogs like Carly and Brock — and giving them the chance of a better future 💛🐾
Funds raised will go towards Lady’s surgery and recovery, or help Any Dog’il Do Rescue continue supporting Lady and other dogs in their care with ongoing veterinary and kennel costs
