Story

In Summer 2025, I will be running from Edinburgh to London in 12 Days. This 700+km distance equates to an Ultramarathon, or 60+km to run each day. I am running this distance to raise money for the OddBalls Foundation, following my battle with testicular cancer since leaving university.

In May 2023 I felt a lump. Following subsequent scans and tests I was told something that every twenty-something guy never thinks they are going to be told… I had testicular cancer. Testicular cancer is something which most/every man is aware of - but I would say most think that it's another mans disease… and can’t imagine them being the one to get it. I was definitely in that category.

Following 12 weeks of chemotherapy and two rounds of intensive operations, I am happy to say my ordeal is almost over - but I will always have my scars. I was very lucky to be overwhelmed with support from family and friends, and specialist medical professionals at every step of my journey. Nothing can prepare you for the lows and challenges during my treatment, but having that support network made it that much easier

The OddBalls Foundation is the UK's leading charity raising awareness of Testicular Cancer.

Testicular Cancer is the most prominent cancer in men aged 15-49, with around 2,400 new cases in the UK every year, that's more than 6 every day. However, if detected early, Testicular Cancer is one of the most curable cancers.

Help us raise awareness of Testicular Cancer to breakdown the stigma, provide people with the correct education, and encourage more men to check themselves on a regular basis, in doing so detect any problems early.
