MPN Voice leads the way in supporting people with rare blood cancers called Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs), with accurate information and emotional support. We're funding research toward better treatments and one day a cure. Most importantly we offer hope to those affected by MPNs.

Story

I will be running the London 2024 marathon to support MPN Voice, a charity supporting those diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs), and raise awareness of the disease.

My mum was diagnosed with essential thrombocythaemia (ET), a type of MPN, in 2014 after suffering a blood clot located close to her brain. While treatment exists, there is still no cure and patients can face daily challenges, including chronic pain and fatigue, and a small number may also go on to suffer from myelofibrosis or a form of leukaemia.

The charity MPN Voice funds research into myeloproliferative neoplasms to help understand more about the patterns of these cancers, develop better treatments and ultimately find a cure. Given the rarity of the disease, MPN Voice provides an important platform to support patients via education and advocacy. The charity provides informative resources, patient forums, and peer support programmes to enable patients, their families and healthcare professionals to gain a better understanding of the disease.

Any donations to support this important cause would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
