Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I wanted to do something challenging and to give back to the beautiful country I've called home for the last 14 years.
I am not an ultra runner! Anyone who knows me, knows I'm used to running 5kms and have only ever ran one marathon and zero ultra's! As David Goggins say's "challenge yourself to do something that you might not be able to complete!" What could be more challenging than a 70km Ultra Marathon through a hot, unforgiving jungle in the North of Vietnam?
The race will be held on Sunday 7th April, to prepare I'll be running a marathon each weekend, for the first three weeks in March.
I'm also running this Ultra Marathon in memory of my cousin, Mike Hall who sadly passed away in 2017 during an Ultra cycling race in Australia. He is a massive inspiration and raised thousands of pounds for Newborns, Vietnam when he twice cycled across Vietnam.
Newborns Vietnam (NBV) is a United Kingdom registered charity licensed to operate as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Vietnam dedicated to reducing neonatal mortality in South East Asia, with a specific focus on Vietnam.
If I could raise a fraction of what he raised I'd be so happy! It really will change lives. For more information about the charity you can click on their logo below.
