Story
CSRT are joining together to raise some funds for Pancreatic Research UK this February. Each individual will be walking, jogging or running a continuous 1 mile a day for every day in February. This may sound easy enough but for a community team driving between visits and some team members working 13 hour shifts starting and finishing work in the dark it's going to take commitment to complete the daily mile.
Fortunately, two laps around the outside of the main hospital building equates to 1 mile!
So why is a stroke rehab team raising funds for Pancreatic Research... In Spring 2023 the awesome Sarah Hardham Senior Sister for CSRT (Community Stroke Rehab Team) retired from the NHS after 40+ years service. Within a few months of retirement Sarah found herself on the opposite side as a patient having been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
For those who know Sarah she is small but mighty and no one messes with Hardham. In the words of Sarah Hardham:
"F**k off Cancer!!"
By donating to my challenge, you're making support available for people now and funding world-leading research to find that breakthrough in new treatments which is so desperately needed. Just £29 could fund further research to improve the speed of diagnosis.
By working together, our actions today can transform the future for people affected by pancreatic cancer.
Thank you so much for your support!
