Bri's Fundraiser for Eczema Outreach Support

Edinburgh Marathon Festival 10K 2024 · 25 May 2024 ·
Hey lovelies!
The strange thing about moving to a new country is getting to know everyone again as a blank canvas. But, when you have a wild health history, it can be tricky. It's so important that we show up as our authentic selves, and I hope that by being myself, I can give others permission to do the same!
I am raising funds for this Scotland-based eczema charity because I wish to help be a respectful voice for Topical Steroid Withdrawal and Eczema advocacy here in Scotland.
Eczema has been in my life since I was a young girl. Sadly, due to lack of knowledge and research, a highly used medication (a topical steroid) was given to me as treatment for a skin rash that spread while I was working on cruise ships. This use, years later, turned into a condition known as Topical Steroid Addiction (it needs a name change, but that's what it is atm). It turned my life upside down, and still continues to play a role in my life. Eczema knowledge and informed care is important, and I don't want any other little boy or girl to follow my path. Let's ensure this PREVENTABLE condition is no longer a player in any sensitive skin person's life <3
Help me create a beautiful dialogue with this charity!
EOS statement:
Eczema is an often misunderstood condition! A child with severe eczema can spend hours daily treating their rough, inflamed skin, and still face unbearable itching, uncomfortable flare-ups, and even hospitalisations for infections. Sleepless nights and days unable to concentrate are all part of life for a family dealing with eczema. Some children even face bullying due to their skin.
EOS provides help and support. It is a place to turn to when it all becomes overwhelming. Please donate to my fundraiser and help a child affected by eczema.
