Toni and I decided to embark on this walk in the hope that any money we raise will go a small way to eventually finding a cure for Alzheimers Disease. Alzheimers is a cruel disease which from Toni’s personal experience is far worse for those of us left behind to witness a loving, clever, caring, intelligent person reduced to someone who cannot communicate or understand what has happened to them.

Not all Alzheimer’s sufferers are lucky enough to go into a Care Home, the strain on relatives caring for their loved ones at home can be unimaginable, depression, mental health, fatigue even suicidal thoughts are all symptoms of Carers at home.

With the statistics increasing it is inevitable families will have more than one relative being diagnosed at any one time so hopefully we can all pull together, raise as much money as we can and one day the number of sufferers will be greatly reduced.
