I am taking part in the annual fundraiser swim from Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye to Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland. It's a distance of approximately 800m across a section of very tidal waters. Normally I'm there in my kayak, so it will feel very different swimming this stretch of very familiar water.

This year, this sponsored event matters more than ever. Our local leisure centre has been closed due to a fire and the funds are essential to get it open again so it can continue to provide a much needed service for the local community.
