Story

I’m Emily Gent and on the 27th April I will be taking on The London Marathon 2025 and will be supporting East Anglian Air Ambulance!

East Anglian Air Ambulance receives no regular government funding and relies entirely on the support of the community. The crews are tasked an average of 7 times a day across the two bases, with each mission costing around £3,750. They can reach anywhere in the region within 25 minutes when every second can make the difference to a patient in their time of need.

The EAAA is near and dear to my heart and I have had first hand experience with them rescuing and preserving the lives of my family, friends and patients I have looked after.

I am a Staff Nurse working on Critical Care (ICU) at Peterborough City Hospital. I have looked after various patients that have required Air ambulance assistance and then needing hospital treatment both on the wards and intensive care. I have a Farming family background and I have had neighbouring farmers that have required EAAA after machinery accidents. In my spare time I enjoy riding horses. Unfortunately accidents happen and almost everyone who rides knows someone who has required immediate assistance. In a rural area that is almost always EAAA.

My Partner also required air ambulance after near-fatal motorbike accident on the 21st June 2022, resulting in EAAA rescue and transport to Addenbrooks for lifesaving surgery.

Thank you so much for supporting me, every penny will help to save lives across East Anglia.

( EAAA’s minimum entry requirement for the Marathon is £2500 but I would love to raise £3,750 to cover at least 1 mission or more if possible)
