Hackney Half Marathon 2025 · 18 May 2025 ·

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

I’ve signed up for a half marathon—not just for the challenge, but for a cause that's close to my heart 💙

I’m running in support of Headway, a brain injury charity that supports individuals and families navigating life after brain injuries.

Last year, my mum had a stroke, and a few years ago, my dad also suffered a brain injury (aneurysm). I’ve witnessed firsthand the strength it takes to recover, and it’s inspired me to give back to those going through similar journeys.

As a beginner runner, tackling a half marathon feels like a huge step (literally!), but it’s nothing compared to the enormous steps so many others have to take in their own recovery.

I’d be so grateful for your support in helping me raise money for Headway. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference to those who need it most. 💙
