Hi. We are Susan and Fran, and we will be walking 13 miles around the Stonehenge area on May 2nd, 2026, through woodlands, farmlands, and along the chalk ridgeway, to raise money for Alzheimer`s Society, as part of this year´s fundraising challenge, Trek26.

We both have a personal connection to Alzeimer´s as Susan´s friend and neighbour for many years developed the disease in her early 70´s and had to move to a care home after only a short time. Fran currently cares for her mother who was diagnosed last year.

Alzheimer´s disease is indiscriminate and can strike anyone. In this case both women were teachers, and throughout their lifes ate healthy diets, exercised and enjoyed singing in a choir.

All the money we raise will go directly to Alzheimer’s Society, and we hope that our contribution, together with so many others, will help the charity undertake more vital research to better understand this disease and continue to give support to those currently suffering from it.
