Story
This April, I have the privilege of taking part in the London Marathon. Privilege, yes! I believe we should never take for granted the ability to move our bodies. Whether that’s walking, swimming, bouldering, dancing, or even running the Marathon. It’s been a dream of mine for many years now, so I feel very lucky to have gotten a ballot place this year.
I’ve chosen to fundraise for the charity Beat, which is the UK’s leading eating disorder charity. Beat supports people who are struggling with eating disorders, as well as the families and friends who care about them. Their main goal is to make sure no one has to face an eating disorder alone. Through their helplines, web chats and online support groups they provide guidance and resources to those that need it.
I’ve chosen this charity to fundraise for because I’ve previously suffered with an ED myself and thankfully was able to recover from it with the help of my amazing family and friends. I know that I am fortunate in that sense, and that lots of people won’t have that experience, which is why the support that Beat provides is so important. I hope that running the marathon will be a testament to myself and others that you can beat an ED and come out of it stronger, healthier and happier.
Please do reach out if you fancy a coffee/drink/recovery run for a catch up or to talk about any of this. Hope to see some of you on April 26th!!!
Any and all donations are so so appreciated
Thank you, Ella ❤️
