Story

STEPTEMBER

1 million steps for 1 million pennies.

In support of Muscular dystrophy I am challenging myself to walk/run 1 million steps in September 2025 to raise 1 million pennies. It will be about 500 miles.

I have chosen this charity because my sister in law suffers from Mytonic Dystrophy, a type of muscular dystrophy. A group of genetic disorders that cause progressive muscle loss and weakness.

By fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK, I’m helping to fund world-class research into effective treatments, and life changing support for the 110,000 people in the UK living with a muscle-wasting condition.

I was inspired to push myself to try this after a walking challenge at work in April this year. I've never been a big walker, my monthly average only being about 130,000 steps before the work challenge earlier this year, so this will be a big step up.

The daily average of 33,333 steps I'm looking to do I have only done twice in my life before, both in April this year and my feet did not appreciate it

I will walk 500 miles,

but I won't walk 500 more,

just to be the man who walked 500 miles

to raise money for a good cause

All donations and support are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
