1st Doddington and 1st Whittlesey are taking a contingent of 94 people, made up of 69 young people aged between 10 and 20, and 25 adult volunteers to Buitenzorg in the Netherlands for a week in August 2026.

In April as part of a practice camp all participants will be undertaking a sponsored walk. Between them they aim to walk at least 800 miles, being the distance from Doddington to Buitenzorg and back.

During the trip, in August, they will be going to Rotterdam, visiting the Maritime Museum and going on a boat trip and Amsterdam, where they will be visiting Anne Frank's House. They will also be going to Oosterbeek and Arnhem and visiting the Hartenstein Airborne Museum, learning all about the Battle of Arnhem. There will also be lots of other activities along the way.

Funds raised from this sponsored walk will help towards the trip and the activities and help to keep the cost to individuals as affordable as possible.
