Story
After the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) saved the life of my nephew following a car accident on the Island, a few friends and I have decided to take on a challenge a year on from the accident.
The challenge? With my running group alongside, I will be running 20 miles carrying 20kgs, from where the crash happened all the way home along the spine of the Island. 20-4-20 will see me run the total distance that the HIOWAA flew Jack with the weight of Jack on my back!
It costs over £17K to maintain the HIOWAA, so Phil, Jamie, George, Oli, Gavroche, Chris and myself have set ourselves the challenge of paying for a whole day of HIOWAA service. My brother, Tom, has already raised a significant amount with the Oxford Half Marathon and we hope to bring those efforts together!
My running team will be alongside for the 20 miles, providing much needed navigation, humour and support over the day.
Anything you would be willing to donate would be spectacular - together we can make sure that the next time the HWIOAA is needed, it has the money and support it needs to get in the air and save someone's life, like they did for Jack.
