Our Endeavour: Cycling 508km … Raising £11,400 … Reuniting 10 children with their families! · 26 April 2024

The St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation is the charitable arm of the St. James’s Place Wealth Management Group. The Foundation supports hundreds of carefully selected projects in the UK and abroad to make a positive and lasting difference to people's lives.

Story

Myself, Kirsty Coldicott, Liz Cowley, Matthew Jones and Tom Birch are all committed supporters of the charity, Hope and Homes for Children (https://www.hopeandhomes.org/),for the incredible work they do supporting children globally, particularly the phenomenal work they have conducted, recently in Ukraine. Hope and Homes for Children stepped in and did everything they could to help orphaned/estranged children out of war-torn Ukraine to safety. We were all incredibly moved when we learned that so many children endeavoured to travel the 508km from Kyiv to the Romanian border, to safety, by any means of transport they could, car, bike or by foot.

Our challenge is to try to understand and endure that extraordinary journey ourselves, by cycling the very same distance of 508km over 4 days and try to raise £11,400, to help 10 children be reunited with their families and raise awareness of Hope and Homes for Children in the process.

So, on 26th April we will commence our cycle route, which we plan to mirror the heart shape logo of Hope and Homes for Children (you can see our cycle route here: https://onthegomap.com/s/os9lnjab)

We are also all members of the St. James’s Place community, so we want to support our Charitable Foundation as well. The monies raised will be matched and these monies will be used to help the wider charities supported by our Charitable Foundation.
