Last year, in 2024, I completed a 17-mile walk for CALM, which raised over £800. For 2025, I want to go even bigger! This year, I will complete a 24-hour walk that will start in Blackpool and finish in Reddish. The walk will take place on July 5th, 2025, starting at Blackpool Football Club Stadium at around 11:00 a.m. The finish line will be Reddish North End (The Mike Doyle Centre). Altogether, this walk is over 55 miles long, and your support will be needed throughout. That can be done via a donation or even joining in on the walk for any part of it. The need for mental health support is huge as there are 200,000 suicide attempts each year. 125 people die by suicide every week in the UK. That is 18 people a day. 1 every 90 minutes. Suicide is also the biggest killer in men under 50. And the suicide rate for young women under 24 has seen the steepest increase since records began. But it doesn't have to be this way.

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.

£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
