Somalia Emergency Appeal

Somalia Ramadan Emergency Appeal · 4 May 2024
I am organising this brothers charity hike in Lake District, Helvellyn to raise funds for Somalia. I'm raising this money in aid of Rafah International.
Rafah International is a UK registered charity (Charity No. 1168436) that provides humanitarian aid. Rafah International facilitates the performance of religious duties such as the distribution of Zakat.
Embark on a meaningful journey with us on May 4th, 2024, as we trek through the breathtaking landscapes of Helvellyn in the Lake District for a charitable cause.
As we approach the last 10 nights of Ramadan, the significance of Zakat becomes profoundly apparent. Ramadan serves as a time of heightened spirituality and reflection, making it the perfect opportunity to fulfill this obligation and uplift the less fortunate.
Moreover, the last 10 nights of Ramadan hold immense significance, especially Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Power, when the Quran was revealed. These nights are a time for increased devotion, prayer, and charity, as believers seek blessings and forgiveness.
Surah Al-Baqarah [2:43] emphasises the significance of charity in Islam by instructing that you perform Salah, and give Zakat, a form of charity aimed at supporting the poor and needy. It highlights the inseparable relationship between worship and charity in Islam.
Hiking for charity is a great way to combine physical activity with doing good for others. It involves challenging yourself to complete a trail or a mountain climb while also raising money and awareness for a specific charity or cause.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all those who generously donated to support our cause. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى bless you and reward your efforts, Ameen.
