Story
Hi, I'm Charlie and this September I’ll be taking on my biggest challenge yet to celebrate a milestone that means a great deal to me—25 years of RNLI Lifeguarding in Bude.
I’ve proudly been a Senior RNLI Lifeguard in Bude for the past four years, and during that time I’ve seen first-hand the dedication, professionalism and teamwork that go into keeping our beaches safe every day throughout the summer.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the service, I’ll be running 5km every hour, on the hour, for 25 consecutive hours. That’s 25 runs, covering a total of 125km, with very little opportunity to rest in between.
This won’t be my first endurance challenge. Last year I completed a non-stop 100km run along the South West Coast Path to raise money for charity. That experience taught me just how much can be achieved with determination, preparation and the support of others. This challenge will test me in a completely different way, and I’m looking forward to taking it on for a cause that’s so close to home.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help support Bude RNLI Lifeguards as they continue to provide a professional lifeguard service for everyone who enjoys our beaches.
If you’re able to donate, thank you. If not, sharing this page with friends and family would mean just as much.
Thank you for your support, and I hope you’ll follow the challenge as I take on 25 runs in 25 hours to celebrate 25 years of RNLI Lifeguarding in Bude.
