Story
268 Miles for BCH.
On June 14th, I’ll be taking on one of the toughest endurance races in the world, the Montane Spine Race.
268 miles.
Non-stop.
From Edale in Derbyshire to Kirk Yetholm in Scotland.
But this isn’t about running.
This is about my daughter, Harper.
At just two years old, Harper was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, an aggressive brain tumour.
Within days, she was in surgery.
Over 10 hours on an operating table while surgeons worked to remove a tumour from her brain.
After that came months of treatment.
Chemotherapy that left her exhausted.
Days where she couldn’t eat.
Days where she couldn’t walk.
Days where just getting through the next hour felt like everything.
Moments no child should ever have to go through… but she did.
And through all of it, one place carried us.
Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
They didn’t just treat Harper.
They carried us as a family.
They gave us answers when we had none.
Strength when we were running on empty.
And most importantly… they gave us more time.
More mornings.
More laughter.
More moments we nearly lost.
There’s no way I can ever repay that.
But I can try.
So over the coming months, I’ll be pushing myself to my absolute limit, physically and mentally, to raise as much as possible for the hospital that gave us those tomorrows.
Every mile is for Harper.
Every step is a thank you.
And every donation helps them continue doing what they do for families just like ours.
If you can support in any way, whether that’s donating or simply sharing this page, it genuinely means everything.
Thank you.
George 💛
