After deciding to run Brighton Marathon 2025, I was offered a place in London Marathon 2025, running with Run4Gaza to celebrate my Palestinian heritage and raise awareness of the ongoing genocide in Gaza. I realised it was the perfect opportunity to fundraise for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), given I'll be putting myself to the test with two marathons in 3 weeks!

For me this is a particularly personal challenge. My father was born in Gaza, his family having lived through the Nakba. His family were made refugees and he has never been able to return to his homeland. It is my dream to one day visit a free, liberated and safe Palestine, but until then I want to raise money towards lifesaving medical care for those who are still there. Even if there was a ceasefire tomorrow, the UN estimate that it will take 80 years to rebuild Gaza; hospitals have been decimated and resources are scarce so the work of MAP, in providing immediate medical aid to those in need across Palestine, has never been more crucial.

Any funds you can spare will help support the delivery of healthcare for women and children; emergency medical care; provide mental health and psychosocial support; vital support for the many who have become disabled due to the constant bombardments, and so much more.
