I’m taking on a huge challenge to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice — running 2 miles every hour, on the hour, for 24 hours. That’s a total of 48 miles in one day!

I’m doing this to support the amazing work St Luke’s Hospice does for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. They provide specialist care, comfort, and dignity at the most difficult times, whether in the hospice or in people’s own homes. They also support families emotionally and continue helping them through bereavement.

Much of their care is funded by donations, so every pound raised really does make a difference.

Running through the day will be tough. Running through the night will be even tougher. But it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by the people and families St Luke’s supports every day.

We provide specialist, palliative care and support to local people, free of charge, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Our support begins from the moment someone is diagnosed, through to palliative care and ultimately end of life care. We help families and carers with the pressures and strains of illness, to coping with bereavement and moving forward. This is only made possible due to the continued support and generous donations of our community who provide over 80% of the cost of running the Hospice.
