3 Peaks Challenge / Ultra Nuclear Fit

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

As you may know a few years ago I lost my brother, Roy, who sadly committed suicide. Since then each year I’ve taken part in different events to raise awareness and money for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a suicide prevention charity.

This year is no different but I will be doing 2 endurance events in two months.

Firstly, in August myself and James will be taking on the National 3 Peaks Challenge, aiming to complete Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowden in 24 hours.

Then in September, I will attempt to complete the Nuclear Fit course five times consecutively. This will cover 30km of trail running, 500metres of tyre flipping, 625metres of carrying a 30kg urn, 625metres of pulling a 70kg sled, 1000metres of farmers carries of 24kg in each hand, 50 duck and throws and 500metres carrying a 30kg bag and 500reps of squat and lifts.

CALM have got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.

£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
