Story
The Anne Robson Trust, https://annerobsontrust.org.uk is a simply remarkable charity built on the belief that no one deserves to die alone. Supporting people, and their loved ones, facing the end of their lives, the work they do, and their drive to open their services to all who need them, is truly humbling.
In our annual attempt to find ever-more unpleasant and potentially family-shattering ways to raise much-needed funds for such an incredible cause, the three of us, plus the dog (who is, as yet, unaware of what's in store for her) are attempting to row a 123yr old Thames Camping Skiff from Oxford to London. That's as-near-as-dammit 100 miles over 6 days (and 5 nights under what's essentially an old tarpaulin) in an open rowing-boat which was built when W.G.Grace was still at the crease and Queen Victoria was just starting to look a little bit peaky. The blisters and the inevitable involvement of social services alone have got to be worth a tenner at the very least.
