Story
I was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis in 2021 which has impacted my life in many ways. I am doing a fundraising challenge for a charity called Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis or OMS which has helped me & many others.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance. It's a lifelong condition that can sometimes cause serious disability, although it can occasionally be mild.
Every day, 300 people across the world are diagnosed with MS.The 300 challenge is a personal goal whether it’s knitting 3 jumpers, walking 30 minutes a day or 300 squats throughout the month but I'm not too great at knitting so I've chosen to do 3 walking marathons in 3 days.
MS affects everyone differently and fortunately, I have caught it early but it has impacted my ability to run but whoever said you can’t walk a marathon? Or 3?
This challenge is to help raise funds for the charity but it is to also spread awareness to the newly diagnosed of the OMS charity who promotes a holistic approach to the condition that anyone with or even without MS can adopt for better health.
This will be a significant physical challenge and although I cannot always beat my MS physically, I always have the option to beat it mentally which I won’t stop doing until me or the MS burns out 🔥
