33 mile May - fundraiser for The Early Birth Association

Rebecca Elliston is raising money for The Early Birth Association

33 Mile May

The EBA makes a positive difference for babies, families and staff in Neonatal Care at the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton, and the Special Care Baby Unit at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. We raise funds to purchase equipment for the units to help save more babies lives.

Story

May brings our little daughters first birthday! After experiencing first hand the incredible work of staff at both TMBU (Trevor Mann Baby Unit) and PRH SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) we wanted to mark this occasion by raising money for the Early Birth Association who support both families and staff at these units.

At 33 weeks, our little lady was in a hurry to arrive! We were sent to Brighton and she spent 5 days on TMBU before being transferred to SCBU for a further 3 weeks. Both we and she were cared for so well by such incredibly loving and supportive staff at both sites, they all felt like part of the family!

To mark her first birthday, we wanted to do something to support both units and given she arrived at 33 weeks, and it was also a 33 mile round trip from home, to TMBU, to SCBU, to finally back home again, 33 mile May seemed fitting! If you are able to give a donation we would be so grateful, as we know how much the work of the EBA has impacted our neonatal journey, we'd love to help them continue this for other families!
