Story
More than 1.4 million emergency food parcels were distributed to people experiencing hardship between 1 April and 30 September 2024. This is 69% higher than the same period five years ago.
Food banks provide a lifeline but they’re not a long-term solution - because hunger is not a food problem, it’s an income problem. We will not stop until everybody has enough money for the essentials, and the distribution of emergency food can end for good.
Until this happens, we provide emergency food and practical support to people in their hardest moments - and work with our partners and local communities to ensure everyone gets the right help long before they need to use a food bank.
