Three Parks. Three Pujas. Three Jewels.
A Buddhist Pilgrimage Through South London — 27 September
What happens when we put ourselves on the line for something bigger than ourselves?
This September 27, challenge yourself to take part in a Buddhist pilgrimage through the parks and urban pathways of South London. Together, we will walk in an atmosphere of peace, awareness, and community.
By joining or sponsoring this 12K pilgrimage, you will be supporting the creation of an urban sanctuary at the heart of South London: a space amid the noise and busyness of Brixton dedicated to meditation, Buddhist practice, friendship, and community.
Since time immemorial, human beings have marked what is significant through ritual. Even today, we are surrounded by rituals — birthdays, weddings, funerals, and ceremonies that acknowledge moments of deep meaning. Rituals recognise that some experiences cannot be fully explained by reason alone; they speak directly to our hearts and emotions.
On this pilgrimage, our rituals celebrate what is of great benefit and beauty: the Three Jewels of Buddhism.
As we journey through South London’s green spaces, we will pause at each location to meditate and ritually celebrate:
The Buddha — a vision of human potential
The Dharma — a path of transformation and self-development
The Sangha — a community that supports, inspires, and walks alongside us
This pilgrimage is an invitation to take our practice out into the world: to walk together, share moments of silence, and deepen our spiritual friendships. When we practise boldly together, we strengthen our connections and renew our commitment to the path.
Your participation or donation will help lay the foundations for a place where people can encounter the Buddha’s teachings, develop their practice, and find friendship and community for generations to come.
How You Can Get Involved
There are two ways you can support us:
1. Donate
Every contribution helps us take another step towards creating Brixton’s new urban sanctuary.
Whether you give £10 or £500, your support makes a meaningful difference.
2. Join Us on the Day
Meet us at 10:00 AM at Crystal Palace Station for a day of walking, reflection, meditation, and practice together.
No previous experience of meditation or ritual is needed — everyone is warmly welcome.
You can also gather sponsorship from friends, family, and colleagues. Every person who sponsors your walk helps bring this urban temple to life.
Join us for the full 12K route or walk with us for part of the day. A live tracker will be shared so you can find the group at any point along the way.
