3 Peaks Challenge · 28 June 2024

We help families of children who have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness or condition. Our instant grants help pay for travel to medical appointments outside the area. We also carry out improvements to the Caroline Thorpe Children's Ward at North Devon District Hospital.

Story

Ben Nevis, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and Scafel Pike, the 3 highest mountains in the UK. To Climb 1 is a great achievement, but to do all 3 in 24 hours? You might say it was madness, but Clive Matt and I call it a great day out!

We're taking on the 3 Peaks challenge, starting at 5am on Friday 29th June and (hopefully) finishing around 430ish the following morning:

With around 23 miles of distance not to mention almost 10,000ft of ascent and 10hours of driving, its certainly going to be a challenge, but one we are more than willing to do, and to do it for Care for Kids, a charity based in North Devon, who help provide financial assistance for families with children with life-threatening illness. Care for Kids provide instant monetary aid for families when its most needed, when money should be the last thing you need to worry about.

Because of North Devon’s rural location, all seriously ill children are now treated in specialist children’s hospitals in Bristol or beyond. For families in North Devon, this means the loss of earnings, subsistence and travel costs for parents traveling and staying in Bristol, Oxford, Birmingham or London.

Anything you can give is very much appreciated, every penny raised will help us get over each and every blister, strain and bruise we develop

Thanks very much

Clive, Matt and Tom
