Story

48-48 Global Challenge 2026

In March 2026, the global modelling community will come together for the 48-48 Global Challenge — a 48-hour live charity event raising funds for Models for Heroes.

Starting on Friday 20th March 2026, builders around the world will begin brand-new model kits at the same time and build live for 48 continuous hours. Finishing isn’t the goal — connection, conversation, and support are what matter.

Alongside the builds, the event features live charity auctions running across all time zones, community hangouts, and live interaction between supporters, volunteers, and beneficiaries.

In 2025, the event raised £16,350, bringing the total raised to over £33,852. For 2026, the challenge is growing again, with increased industry support and an exciting new partnership with Airfix.

Every donation helps fund creative wellbeing sessions that support veterans, serving personnel, and first responders.

Models for Heroes provide a reliable supply of quality scale model kits and relevant modelling materials to over 40 localised and national military and mental health organisations in the UK. On average we facilitate 150 veterans per month with therapeutic activities. We also promote and teach the scale modelling hobby as a benefit to mental and physical health, loneliness and well-being.

With 100 enthusiastic volunteers and the full support of the modelling community we can continue to flourish.

Thank you for helping turn creativity into connection — and connection into real impact.
